Il signifie basiquement \u00ab\u00a0force, puissance\u00a0\u00bb (ex.&nbsp; 2Sa 6.14), ou \u00ab\u00a0fortification\u00a0\u00bb (ex. Jer 51.53) \u2192 DHAB 276, HAL 805, <a href=\"https:\/\/semanticdictionary.org\/semdic.php?databaseType=SDBH&#038;language=fr&#038;lemmaIndex=4835&#038;startPage=1\">SDBH<\/a>. C&rsquo;est son sens prototypique. Cependant son usage (= son sens contextuel) au sein de locutions exprimant la gloire divine tend \u00e0 indiquer qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une tournure m\u00e9taphorique ou idiomatique allant du concret \u00e0 l&rsquo;abstrait, du type FORCE = HONNEUR\/MAJEST\u00c9. C&rsquo;est ce qui ressort de textes comme Psa 29.1, Psa 96.7 ou 1Ch 16.28, dans lesquels l&rsquo;association avec le terme \u05db\u05d1\u05d5\u05d3 (POIDS = GLOIRE) ne laisse planer aucun doute :<strong> \u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05d1\u05d5\u05b9\u05d3 \u05d5\u05b8\u05e2\u05b9\u05d6, poids et force = <em>gloire et honneur<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Le parall\u00e9lisme synonymique de Psa 96.6 permet d&rsquo;\u00e9tayer encore cette hypoth\u00e8se :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05d3<\/span> \u05be<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05d5\u05b0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u05d4\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05a5\u05e8<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> <\/span><\/span>\u05dc\u05b0\u05e4\u05b8\u05e0\u05b8\u0591\u05d9\u05d5 <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">\u05e2\u05b9\u05a5\u05d6<\/span> \u05d5\u05b0\u059d<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u05ea\u05b4\u05e4\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u0597\u05e8\u05b6\u05ea<\/span> \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05de\u05b4\u05e7\u05b0\u05d3\u05bc\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1\u05bd\u05d5\u05b9 \u05c3<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">La splendeur<\/span> et <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">la majest\u00e9<\/span> se tiennent devant lui,<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">la puissance<\/span> et <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">la gloire<\/span> dans son sanctuaire<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Au terme <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05d3<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> (<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>majest\u00e9<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">) r\u00e9pond le terme <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05e2\u05b9\u05a5\u05d6<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> (<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>force<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">) et au terme <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05d4\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05a5\u05e8<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> (<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>\u00e9clat, gloire<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">) le terme <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05ea\u05b4\u05e4\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u0597\u05e8\u05b6\u05ea<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> (<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>beaut\u00e9, magnificence<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">). <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">On peut donc en d\u00e9duire qu&rsquo;ici, et probablement de mani\u00e8re plus g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05d3<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> \u2248 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05e2\u05b9\u05d6<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">, ce qui n&rsquo;est pas pour nous surprendre puisque nous avions pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment rencontr\u00e9 le terme <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05d3<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> dans le contexte de notre <\/span><em style=\"color: #000000\">locus<\/em><span style=\"color: #000000\">. Il pourrait aussi s&rsquo;agir ici d&rsquo;une \u00e9num\u00e9ration sugg\u00e9rant une proximit\u00e9 s\u00e9mantique des quatre termes tout \u00e0 la fois.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">De fait ce texte (et quelques autres) explique que certains dictionnaires d&rsquo;h\u00e9breu biblique listent le sens \u00ab\u00a0gloire\u00a0\u00bb parmi les acceptions de <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05e2\u05b9\u05d6<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> (ST 519, DCH VI, 322-325). Clines donne m\u00eame pour synonyme de <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05e2\u05b9\u05d6<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> les termes <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05e4\u05b0\u05d0\u05b8\u05e8\u05b8\u05d4<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> et <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u05db\u05b8\u05bc\u05d1\u05d5\u05b9\u05d3<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"> (DCH VI, 325).<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">C&rsquo;est donc sans doute \u00e0 raison que les versions anciennes comprennent l&rsquo;expression \u05d9\u05b4\u05e1\u05b7\u05bc\u05aa\u05d3\u05b0\u05ea\u05b8\u05bc\u05ab \u05e2\u05b9\u05a5\u05d6 de Psa 8.3 de mani\u00e8re \u00ab\u00a0idiomatique\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0m\u00e9taphorique\u00a0\u00bb : ainsi la Vulgate (<em>perfecisti laudem<\/em>) et la version syriaque (\u072c\u0729\u0722\u072c \u072c\u072b\u0712\u0718\u071a\u072c\u071f), cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/Barthelemy_CTAT\/page\/n3401\/mode\/2up\">CTAT 50\/4, 24-25<\/a>. En Mat 21.16 et dans la version de Shem Tob, l&rsquo;expression h\u00e9bra\u00efque est rendue telle quelle (\u05d9\u05e1\u05d3\u05ea \u05e2\u05d5\u05d6, cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3L7gj8B\">Howard 1995, 102-103<\/a>), ce qui pourrait abonder en ce sens (il pourrait aussi s&rsquo;agir d&rsquo;une convenance de traducteur, \u00e0 savoir ne pas traduire ce qui n&rsquo;a pas lieu d&rsquo;\u00eatre traduit ; ce qui n&rsquo;est pas incompatible).
