Par exemple, le Comit\u00e9 en charge du <em>Preliminary and Interim Report on the Hebrew Old Testament Text Project<\/em> (vol. 1, 1979, p.294), compos\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9minents savants (comme D. Barth\u00e9l\u00e9my, A.R. Hulst, James A. Sanders, etc.), attribuait une notation D (derni\u00e8re de la liste, la moins probable) \u00e0 la variante \u05d2\u05e8\u05d9\u05d6\u05d9\u05dd, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire : \u00ab\u00a0elle pr\u00e9sente quelques chances d&rsquo;\u00eatre la plus primitive, mais cela demeure tr\u00e8s incertain\u00a0\u00bb (p.xxi). Mention est \u00e9galement faite du facteur qui selon le comit\u00e9 peut expliquer la variante, et il s&rsquo;agit du facteur 7 : \u00ab\u00a0Modifications du texte pour des motifs d&rsquo;ex\u00e9g\u00e8se\u00a0\u00bb (p.xxv). Il vaut la peine de prendre connaissance de ce qu&rsquo;indique l&rsquo;incontournable apparat de la <strong>BHQ<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to M, the stones on which the law is to be written are to be set up on Mount Ebal, whereas in Smr their location is Mount Gerizim. M has the support of all the textual witnesses apart from Smr, one Greek ms. (Papyrus Giessen 19: \u03b5\u03bd \u03b1\u03c1\u03b3\u03b1\u03c1[\u03b9]\u03b6\u03b9\u03bc), one La ms. (Robert, Codex Lugdunensis, 30), and TSmr. However, a considerable number of scholars accept that the Smr tradition represents an earlier, possibly non-sectarian text, and that the M textual tradition here and at Josh 8:30 reflects a very early scribal emendation, which would have taken place before G\u2019s translation of both books. For example, Tov, challenging the opinion of Glaue\/Rahlfs that Papyrus Giessen 19 is a witness to the Samareitikon (Glaue\/Rahlfs, \u201cFragmente,\u201d 31\u201364), argues that the fragment as a whole witnesses to an early revision of the Septuagint, and that here it \u201cmay represent an ancient, not yet sectarian, variant reading (\u201cPap. Giessen,\u201d 373f.; idem, Textual Criticism, 95, n. 67). Braulik\/Lohfink also follow this route, but go further than Tov in that they explicitly refer to this reading as \u201cUrseptuaginta\u201d (\u201cDeuteronomium 1,5,\u201d 49, n. 44). Barth\u00e9lemy et al. also recommend the reading of Smr as preferable (HOTTP, 1:294). By contrast, on the basis of 4QJosha, Ulrich maintains that Ebal and Gerizim are both secondary sectarian readings for an earlier location in Gilgal (DJD IX, 143\u201352; idem, \u201cDead Sea Scrolls,\u201d 89\u201390). Writing about 850 C.E., I\u0161o\u02bfdad of Merv was aware of the Samaritan tradition: \u201cAnd why is it commanded: \u2019Build an alter on Mount Ebal\u2019 if it is on Gerizim that the blessings will be, and the curses on Ebal? There must also have been an altar on Mount Gerizim, the place of the blessings, as is, moreover, written in the codex of the Samaritans\u201d (Commentary, 176, 129). The Smr insertion of this passage among others (11:29a; 27:2b-3a, 4a, 5-7; 11:30) after the Decalogue of both Exod 20:17 and Deut 5:21 also contains the reading \u201cMount Gerizim.\u201d The Smr manuscript tradition almost uniformly presents the reading as one word \u05d1\u05d4\u05e8\u05d2\u05e8\u05d9\u05d6\u05d9\u05dd (or \u05d1\u05d4\u05e8\u05d2\u05e8\u05d6\u05d9\u05dd) here at v. 4, as do also the respective editions of Tal and P\u00e9rez Castro. The edition of von Gall features it as two words, apparently on the basis of one ms. as against twenty-two which attest the single word. In the case of the insertion of this verse at 11:29, the two words are also written as one, apart from Ms. 6 (C), which carries a word divider (see Tal, Samaritan Pentateuch, 188, and von Gall\u2019s edition, the latter again based on one ms.).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Plus succinctement, ses \u00e9diteurs consid\u00e8rent que\u00a0<em>\u00c9bal<\/em> est en fait une \u00ab\u00a0em scr\u00a0\u00bb, une\u00a0<strong>\u00e9mendation scribale<\/strong> (une de ces corrections connues dans la tradition sous le nom de <em>tiqqune sopherim<\/em>, quoique non r\u00e9pertori\u00e9e en tant que telle) et que la lecture \u00ab\u00a0pref\u00a0\u00bb,\u00a0<strong>pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable<\/strong>, est bien <em>Garizim<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2009136.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-2RMmoR5K\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-714\" alt=\"2009136\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2009136.png?resize=300%2C44\" width=\"300\" height=\"44\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2009136.png?resize=300%2C44&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/2009136.png?w=570&amp;ssl=1 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cette affirmation peut \u00eatre confort\u00e9e par plusieurs indices :<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; on a d\u00e9couvert \u00e0 Qumran (dat\u00e9 de -30) un fragment qui <strong>s&rsquo;accorde avec le texte samaritain<\/strong>\u00a0(cf.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cat.inist.fr\/?aModele=afficheN&amp;cpsidt=26674924\">C. Nihan, \u00ab\u00a0Garizim et \u00c9bal dans le Pentateuque\u00a0\u00bb<\/a>,\u00a0<em>Semitica<\/em> 54, 2012 : 185-210, cit\u00e9 dans <a href=\"http:\/\/www.academia.edu\/3290630\/Dating_the_Biblical_Chronology\">Gertoux, <em>Dating the Biblical Chronology<\/em>, p. 13<\/a>\u00a0; je renvoie \u00e0 cet article pour les motifs qui ont pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 cette correction, et surtout dans quel contexte). Cela prouve non pas que c&rsquo;est une le\u00e7on originale, mais que ces textes d\u00e9rivent d&rsquo;une tradition du texte h\u00e9breu diff\u00e9rente du texte massor\u00e9tique. Ce qui rappelle, si besoin, que le texte h\u00e9breu \u00ab\u00a0proto-massor\u00e9tique\u00a0\u00bb a connu une diversit\u00e9 de traditions, avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre standardis\u00e9 et canonis\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de 90 -100 AD (Jamnia ou Yabneh). Et bien s\u00fbr cela explique qu&rsquo;il y ait parfois des points de contact entre le texte samaritain et la Septante (ou sa <em>Vorlage<\/em> suppos\u00e9e, ou encore certains de ses t\u00e9moins).
