L\u00e9vitique 19.12, Deut\u00e9ronome 5.11).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le segment \u05dc\u05e9\u05d5\u05d0 est traditionnellement traduit \u00ab\u00a0en vain\u00a0\u00bb. Mais c&rsquo;est moins la fatuit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;usage qu&rsquo;un usage mensonger qui est condamn\u00e9 dans ce passage, et ailleurs dans la Bible. Le terme \u05e9\u05d5\u05d0\u00a0d\u00e9signe avant tout l&rsquo;<em>inconsistance<\/em>, la <em>vacuit\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; si bien qu&rsquo;on pourrait presque traduire \u00ab\u00a0dans le vent\u00a0\u00bb. Mais certains de ses emplois laissent deviner un trait s\u00e9mantique relevant de la <em>tromperie<\/em>, du <em>mensonge<\/em> : ainsi Deut\u00e9ronome 5.20 (\u05e2\u05b5\u05d3 \u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05d5\u05b0\u05d0 = faux t\u00e9moignage), Isa\u00efe 59.4 (\u05d0\u05b1\u05de\u05d5\u05bc\u05e0\u05b8\u05d4 s&rsquo;oppose \u00e0\u00a0\u05ea\u05b9\u05bc\u05d4\u05d5\u05bc et\u00a0\u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05d5\u05b0\u05d0), Lamentations 2.14 (\u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05d5\u05b0\u05d0 rapproch\u00e9 de \u05de\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc\u05d7\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd), etc. Cf. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.fr\/gp\/product\/2204044636\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1642&amp;creative=19458&amp;creativeASIN=2204044636&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=encyclopaed09-21\">DHAB : 377<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.fr\/gp\/product\/1906055793\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1642&amp;creative=19458&amp;creativeASIN=1906055793&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=encyclopaed09-21\">CDCH : 450<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.logos.com\/product\/5226\/hebrew-and-aramaic-lexicon-of-the-old-testament\">HALOT : 1425<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il n&rsquo;est pas question ici de brosser le tableau des serments dans la Bible (voir par ex. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.fr\/gp\/product\/2755001003\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1642&amp;creative=19458&amp;creativeASIN=2755001003&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=encyclopaed09-21\">GDB : 1558<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowhowsphere.net\/Main.aspx?BASEID=DEB\">DEB : 1193<\/a>, <a title=\"Westphal, Dictionnaire Encyclop\u00e9dique de la Bible\" href=\"http:\/\/456-bible.123-bible.com\/westphal\/4783.htm\">WDE<\/a>, <a title=\"Etude Perspicace des Ecritures\" href=\"http:\/\/m.wol.jw.org\/fr\/wol\/d\/r30\/lp-f\/1200003286#h=0:0-17:0\">EPE<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/stream\/Vigouroux_DB\/Vigouroux_DB_III#page\/n959\/mode\/2up\">VDB 3:1868-1872<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.fr\/gp\/product\/0687333466\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1642&amp;creative=19458&amp;creativeASIN=0687333466&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=encyclopaed09-21\">NIDB 4:309-312<\/a>), mais de souligner simplement qu&rsquo;ils \u00e9taient courants et qu&rsquo;ils impliquaient parfois le nom divin \u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4 (dans ce cas, ils n&rsquo;\u00e9taient pas r\u00e9vocables).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ce n&rsquo;\u00e9tait donc pas l&rsquo;usage du nom qui \u00e9tait proscrit. Cette expression \u00ab\u00a0Vie de J\u00e9hovah\u00a0\u00bb c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire \u00ab\u00a0Par la vie de J\u00e9hovah\u00a0\u00bb se rencontre encore aujourd&rsquo;hui dans l&rsquo;expression \u00ab\u00a0Sur la t\u00eate de&#8230;\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans le <em>Talmud de J\u00e9rusalem<\/em>, on trouve de nombreuses discussions autour du th\u00e8me des v\u0153ux : ceux qui peuvent \u00eatre annul\u00e9s &#8211; et dans quelles circonstances particuli\u00e8res et minutieuses &#8211; , et ceux qui ne le peuvent pas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Deux points m\u00e9ritent d&rsquo;\u00eatre signal\u00e9s :<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1) Le Talmud donne un exemple pr\u00e9cis de ce qu&rsquo;\u00e9tait \u00ab\u00a0jurer en vain\u00a0\u00bb : \u03ba\u03c5\u0301\u03c1\u03b9\u03b5 \u03c0\u03bf\u03bb\u03c5\u0300 \u03b2\u03c1\u03b5\u0301\u03be\u03b1\u03bd &#8211; Schwab traduit ainsi : \u00ab\u00a0par Dieu, il pleut beaucoup\u00a0\u00bb (<em>Talmud de J\u00e9rusale<\/em>m, volume VIII, p. 180).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le terme\u00a0\u03ba\u03c5\u0301\u03c1\u03b9\u03b5, vocatif de \u03ba\u03c5\u0301\u03c1\u03b9\u03bf\u03c2, signifie \u00ab\u00a0Seigneur\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0\u00f4 Seigneur\u00a0\u00bb &#8211; et c&rsquo;est le substitut habituel pour le t\u00e9tragramme. On est plus dans l&rsquo;exclamation que le v\u0153u ou le serment, mais voici ce qui \u00e9tait pr\u00e9vu pour une telle \u00a0l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 (<em>ibid.<\/em>) :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">R. Haga\u00ef dit au nom de R. Simon b. Lakish : si, en voyant tomber la pluie, quelqu&rsquo;un s&rsquo;\u00e9crie:\u00a0\u03ba\u03c5\u0301\u03c1\u03b9\u03b5 \u03c0\u03bf\u03bb\u03c5\u0300 \u03b2\u03c1\u03b5\u0301\u03be\u03b1\u03bd (par Dieu, il pleut beaucoup), il jure en vain, et devra subir la p\u00e9nalit\u00e9 des coups.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2)\u00a0\u00a0Il y avait un autre type de serment, qui est curieux. On le trouve toujours dans l&rsquo;\u00e9dition du Talmud de J\u00e9rusalem par\u00a0Schwab (<em>Talmud de J\u00e9rusalem,<\/em> volume VIII, pp.240-241 &#8211; Nedarim XI, 1) :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Un homme se pr\u00e9senta \u00e0 R. Yoss\u00e9 pour le prier d\u2019annuler son v\u0153u ; celui-ci s\u2019enveloppa (en tenue d\u2019office), s\u2019assit et demanda au consultant comment il avait formul\u00e9 le serment ? J\u2019ai dit, fut-il r\u00e9pondu: \u00ab\u00a0O Popi (par Dieu) d\u2019Isra\u00ebl, je ne veux pas entrer dans ma maison.\u00a0\u00bb R. Yoss\u00e9 lui dit alors : l\u2019expression \u00ab\u00a0O Popi d\u2019Isra\u00ebl\u00a0\u00bb est un vrai serment (valable), et d\u00e9sormais tu ne peux pas rentrer dans ta maison (le savant ne peut donc pas annuler les serments)\u00a0\u00bb. \u200bUne note explique \u00ab\u00a0Popi\u00a0\u00bb ainsi : &lsquo;C\u2019est le mot \u200b\u03a0\u0399\u03a0\u0399, provenant de la lecture J\u00e9hovah (lu \u00e0 rebours), remarque L. L\u00e9vy, s.v., qui rappelle le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 analogue d\u2019Orig\u00e8ne et de S. J\u00e9r\u00f4me. V. aussi Jos. Hal\u00e9vy, dans <em>Revue des \u00e9tudes juives<\/em>, tome IX, p. 162&prime;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">D&rsquo;apr\u00e8s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chronosynchro.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dating-War-of-Hyksos.pdf\">Gertoux<\/a>\u00a0(cf. p.16, ou ici <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.calameo.com\/read\/000609284fef6301a7fd3\">p.77<\/a> en fran\u00e7ais), ce \u00ab\u00a0O Popi\u00a0\u00bb (mauvaise lecture de l&rsquo;h\u00e9breu\u00a0\u05d9\u05e4\u05d5\u05e4\u05d9) est Mo\u00efse (<em>Ipopi <\/em>=\u00a0<em>Apopi<\/em>). L&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se est audacieuse, et \u00e9tay\u00e9e par un certain nombre d&rsquo;indices. D&rsquo;autres pensent qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une mauvaise lecture du t\u00e9tragramme, impliquant de ce fait un serment au nom de Dieu, plus habituel.
