Il a ainsi \u00e9t\u00e9 contemporain de son compatriote Mich\u00e9e, ainsi que d&rsquo;Os\u00e9e, proph\u00e8te du royaume du Nord \u00e0 la fin de celui-ci. Esa\u00efe a v\u00e9cu \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem. On sait qu&rsquo;il a \u00e9t\u00e9 le p\u00e8re d&rsquo;au moins deux fils, n\u00e9s au d\u00e9but de son minist\u00e8re, et auxquels il a donn\u00e9 des noms symboliques en rapport avec le message proph\u00e9tique dont il \u00e9tait alors charg\u00e9 (Es 7-8). On est tent\u00e9 de le consid\u00e9rer comme un aristocrate, car il avait ses entr\u00e9es \u00e0 la cour, connaissait bien la haute soci\u00e9t\u00e9 (chap. 1), et portait un grand int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 la politique nationale et internationale, dont il \u00e9tait bien inform\u00e9. Il a exerc\u00e9 une grande influence aupr\u00e8s d&rsquo;Ez\u00e9chias. Il semble m\u00eame avoir fait oeuvre d&rsquo;historiographe de la cour de Juda (voir 2Ch 26.22; en outre, il est probablement l&rsquo;auteur des chapitres consacr\u00e9s au r\u00e8gne d&rsquo;Ez\u00e9chias en 2R 18-20, et qui se retrouvent en Es 36-39). &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xl6.com\/collections\/semeur-etude\"><em>Bible du Semeur,<\/em> nouvelle \u00e9dition<\/a> (2018 : 1032).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">Avec ces quelques mots de pr\u00e9sentation d&rsquo;Esa\u00efe et de son contexte \u00e0 l&rsquo;esprit, la d\u00e9couverte r\u00e9cente d&rsquo;une nouvelle empreinte antique, dans l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ophel\">Ophel<\/a> \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem, prend tout son sens. Les arch\u00e9ologues viennent en effet d&rsquo;annoncer la d\u00e9couverte d&rsquo;une intrigante empreinte, o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on semble pouvoir lire la mention <strong>[Appartenant \u00e0] Esa\u00efe proph[\u00e8te]<\/strong>, en h\u00e9breu <strong>[\u05dc\u05d9\u05e9\u05e2\u05d9\u05d4[\u05d5] \u05e0\u05d1\u05d9[\u05d0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Si la lecture est correcte, ce serait la premi\u00e8re fois que l&rsquo;existence du plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre des proph\u00e8tes serait attest\u00e9e par une source non biblique.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Deux d\u00e9tails principalement posent probl\u00e8me aux sp\u00e9cialistes : 1. l&rsquo;article manque devant le mot proph\u00e8te, et 2. l&rsquo;aleph de \u05e0\u05d1\u05d9<strong>\u05d0<\/strong> n&rsquo;est pas visible.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Comme on peut le voir sur la reproduction ci-dessus, l&#8217;empreinte d&rsquo;argile est fort endommag\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/2018173.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-qZUbVLz7\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6683\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/2018173.png?resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/2018173.png?resize=300%2C200 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/2018173.png?w=703 703w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Il se pourrait que les deux lettres manquantes ait figur\u00e9 sur la premi\u00e8re ligne, et l&rsquo;aleph manquant dans la seconde, comme le sugg\u00e8re le sch\u00e9ma ci-dessus, ce qui donnerait : <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times;\">\u05dc\u05d9\u05e9\u05e2\u05d9\u05d4<\/span>[<span style=\"font-family: Times;\">\u05d5\u05d4<\/span>]<span style=\"font-family: Times;\">\u05e0\u05d1\u05d9<\/span>[<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: Times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u05d0<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Mais ce n&rsquo;est pas s\u00fbr.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ce n&rsquo;est pas s\u00fbr, mais gageons que trouver l&#8217;empreinte d&rsquo;un sceau d&rsquo;Esa\u00efe \u00e0 deux pas de celle d&rsquo;un <a href=\"http:\/\/areopage.net\/blog\/2015\/12\/04\/decouverte-de-limpression-dun-sceau-dezechias-viii\/\">sceau du roi Ez\u00e9chias<\/a>, c&rsquo;est intrigant ! On ne voit pas vraiment, d&rsquo;ailleurs, ce qu&rsquo;on pourrait lire d&rsquo;autre.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">Finding a seal impression of the prophet Isaiah next to that of King Hezekiah should not be unexpected. It would not be the first time that seal impressions of two Biblical personas, mentioned in the same verse in the Bible, were found in an archaeological context.
