J.-C., tout pr\u00e8s du mur des Lamentations dans la vieille ville de J\u00e9rusalem. Ce n&rsquo;est pas sans rappeler le <a href=\"http:\/\/areopage.net\/blog\/2015\/12\/04\/decouverte-de-limpression-dun-sceau-dezechias-viii\/\">sceau d&rsquo;Ez\u00e9chias<\/a> (-VIII\/-VII), d\u00e9couvert en 2009, et identifi\u00e9 en tant que tel en d\u00e9cembre 2015. Ce qui est particulier dans le cas pr\u00e9sent, c&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;on avait jamais trouv\u00e9 de mention d&rsquo;un \u00ab\u00a0gouverneur\u00a0\u00bb dans la ville de J\u00e9rusalem.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">L&rsquo;impression d&rsquo;argile,\u00a013 x 15 mm pour deux \u00e0 trois millim\u00e8tres d&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur, repr\u00e9sente deux personnages se faisant face, au-dessous desquels on trouve l&rsquo;inscription pal\u00e9oh\u00e9braique :<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/0301182.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-RCIravBb\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6594\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/0301182.png?resize=128%2C50\" alt=\"\" width=\"128\" height=\"50\" \/><\/a>qu&rsquo;on peut transcrire <strong>\u05dc\u05e9\u05e8\u05e2\u05e8<\/strong>. Il n&rsquo;y a pas d&rsquo;espace ni de <em>yod<\/em>\u00a0m\u00e8re de lecture au mot \u05e2\u05d9\u05e8, et l&rsquo;article \u05d4 est sous-entendu, soit \u05dc\u05e9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05d9\u05e8, \u00ab\u00a0[appartenant] au chef de la ville\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Deux personnages mentionn\u00e9s dans la Bible, au temps d\u2019\u00c9z\u00e9chias et Josias, ont port\u00e9 ce titre :<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>2 Rois 23.8<\/strong> : &#8230; \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8\u05be \u05e4\u05bc\u05b6\u059c\u05ea\u05b7\u05d7 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b7\u05a4\u05e2\u05b7\u05e8 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05e9\u05c1\u05bb\u0599\u05e2\u05b7\u0599 \u05e9\u05c2\u05b7\u05e8\u05be \u05d4\u05b8\u05e2\u05b4\u0594\u05d9\u05e8 <span style=\"font-family: 'SBL Hebrew';\">&#8230; <\/span>\u00e0 l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e de la porte de Josu\u00e9, chef de la ville&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>2 Chroniques 34.8<\/strong> : &#8230; \u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05a0\u05dc\u05b7\u05d7 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea\u05be \u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05e4\u05b8\u05a8\u05df \u05d1\u05bc\u05b6\u05df\u05be \u05d0\u05b2\u05e6\u05b7\u05dc\u05b0\u05d9\u05b8\u059c\u05d4\u05d5\u05bc \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u05ea\u05be \u05de\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05e9\u05c2\u05b5\u05d9\u05b8\u05a3\u05d4\u05d5\u05bc \u05e9\u05c2\u05b7\u05e8\u05be \u05d4\u05b8\u05e2\u05b4\u0597\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d5\u05b0\u05a0\u05d0\u05b5\u05ea \u05d9\u05d5\u05b9\u05d0\u05b8\u05a4\u05d7 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b6\u05df\u05be \u05d9\u05bd\u05d5\u05b9\u05d0\u05b8\u05d7\u05b8\u05d6\u0599 \u05d4\u05b7\u05de\u05bc\u05b7\u05d6\u05b0\u05db\u05bc\u05b4\u0594\u05d9\u05e8 &#8230;il envoya Shaphan, fils d&rsquo;Atsalayah, Maas\u00e9yah, chef de la ville, et Yoah, fille Yoachaz l&rsquo;archiviste&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XGD5sf885yw\" width=\"460\" height=\"285\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>Pour certains, cette trouvaille est loin d&rsquo;\u00eatre anodine, comme on peut s&rsquo;en rendre compte de la voix m\u00eame des arch\u00e9ologues sur place :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Bible mentions two governors of Jerusalem, and this finding thus reveals that such a position was actually held by someone in the city some 2700 years ago. &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Dr. Shlomit Weksler-Bdolah<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">Plus que confirmer l&rsquo;antique r\u00e9cit biblique, l&rsquo;art\u00e9fact permet ainsi d&rsquo;alimenter, en filigrane, des consid\u00e9rations un peu plus modernes&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">The finding of the seal with this high-rank title, in addition to the large assemblage of actual seals found in the building in the past, supports the assumption that this area, located on the western slopes of the western hill of ancient Jerusalem, some 100m [328 ft] west of the Temple Mount, was inhabited by highly ranked officials during the First Temple period. According to <strong>Dr. Weksler-Bdolah<\/strong>, \u201cthis is the first time that such a seal has been found in an authorized excavation. It supports the biblical rendering of the existence of a governor of the city in Jerusalem some 2,700 years ago.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgesforpeace.com\/2018\/01\/rare-ancient-first-temple-seal-discovered-near-western-wall-plaza\/\">source<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">Sur l&rsquo;expression \u05e9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05e2\u05d9\u05e8, \u00ab\u00a0chef ou gouverneur de la ville\u00a0\u00bb, rappelons qu&rsquo;en h\u00e9breu le terme\u00a0\u05e9\u05e8 d\u00e9signe plus un <em>prince<\/em> ou un <em>chef<\/em> qu&rsquo;un <em>gouverneur<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/0301183.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-RCIravBb\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6602\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/0301183.png?resize=300%2C183\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/0301183.png?resize=300%2C183 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/0301183.png?w=616 616w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Pour d\u00e9signer un <em>gouverneur<\/em>, il est plus souvent question du terme \u05e4\u05b6\u05bc\u05d7\u05b8\u05d4, particuli\u00e8rement au temps d&rsquo;Esdras et N\u00e9h\u00e9mie (\u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du terme \u05ea\u05b4\u05bc\u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05ea\u05b8\u05d0). Dans le livre de J\u00e9r\u00e9mie, c&rsquo;est une forme de \u05e4\u05e7\u05d3 qui est privil\u00e9gi\u00e9e. D&rsquo;autres vocables sont possibles encore (\u05e1\u05b6\u05ab\u05e8\u05b6\u05df , \u05e8\u05b7\u05d1 , \u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05ea\u05b8\u05d0). Cependant le terme\u00a0\u05e9\u05e8 semble bien d\u00e9signer un <em>gouverneur<\/em> \u00e0 proprement parler, comme en <strong>Juges 9.30<\/strong> au sujet de Zebul (le terme \u05e9\u05e8 y est \u00e0 rapprocher de \u05e4\u05b8\u05bc\u05e7\u05b4\u05d9\u05d3, \u00ab\u00a0commissaire\/inspecteur\u00a0\u00bb dans le contexte, cf. <strong>9.28 <\/strong>; voir aussi <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2Al1tY4\">DCH p.440<\/a>). Une expression sans doute \u00e9quivalente, \u05e9\u05c2\u05b7\u05e8 \u05d4\u05b7\u05d1\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc\u05be\u05d9\u05b0\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05dc\u05b8\u05b4\u05dd , <em>chef de la citadelle de J\u00e9rusalem<\/em>, se trouve en <strong>N\u00e9h\u00e9mie 7.2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Pour s&rsquo;en convaincre on peut consulter les autres cas connus, non moins int\u00e9ressants. L&rsquo;absence de nom sugg\u00e8re que l&rsquo;objet a peut-\u00eatre appartenu \u00e0 un service plut\u00f4t qu&rsquo;\u00e0 un individu.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Pour d&rsquo;autres mentions fort int\u00e9ressantes de ce genre (dont une possible bulle ayant appartenu au Shaphan mentionn\u00e9 en <strong>2 Rois 22.3<\/strong> \/ <strong>2 Chroniques 34.8<\/strong>), cf.
