Certaines fois cependant, l&rsquo;auteur inspir\u00e9 nous y invite explicitement. En <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*LSG 1Co 10:1-12\">1 Corinthiens 1.1-12<\/a>, on peut lire d&rsquo;apr\u00e8s la version <em>Louis Segond<\/em> :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>1\u00a0<\/strong>Fr\u00e8res, je ne veux pas que vous ignoriez que nos p\u00e8res ont tous \u00e9t\u00e9 sous la nu\u00e9e, qu\u2019ils ont tous pass\u00e9 au travers de la mer,\u00a0<strong>2<\/strong> qu\u2019ils ont tous \u00e9t\u00e9 baptis\u00e9s en Mo\u00efse dans la nu\u00e9e et dans la mer,\u00a0<strong>3<\/strong> qu\u2019ils ont tous mang\u00e9 le m\u00eame aliment spirituel,\u00a0<strong>4<\/strong> et qu\u2019ils ont tous bu le m\u00eame breuvage spirituel, car ils buvaient \u00e0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">un rocher spirituel<\/span> qui les suivait, et <span style=\"color: #008000;\">ce rocher \u00e9tait Christ<\/span>.\u00a0<strong>5<\/strong> Mais la plupart d\u2019entre eux ne furent point agr\u00e9ables \u00e0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Dieu<\/span>, puisqu\u2019ils p\u00e9rirent dans le d\u00e9sert.\u00a0<strong>6<\/strong> Or, ces choses sont arriv\u00e9es pour nous servir d\u2019exemples, afin que nous n\u2019ayons pas de mauvais d\u00e9sirs, comme ils en ont eu. 7 Ne devenez point idol\u00e2tres, comme quelques-uns d\u2019eux, selon qu\u2019il est \u00e9crit: <em>Le peuple s\u2019assit pour manger et pour boire; puis ils se lev\u00e8rent pour se divertir<\/em>.\u00a0<strong>8<\/strong> Ne nous livrons point \u00e0 l\u2019impudicit\u00e9, comme quelques-uns d\u2019eux s\u2019y livr\u00e8rent, <span style=\"color: #993366;\">de sorte qu\u2019il en tomba vingt -trois mille en un seul jour<\/span>.\u00a0<strong>9<\/strong> Ne tentons point <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">le Seigneur<\/span>, comme le tent\u00e8rent quelques-uns d\u2019eux, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">qui p\u00e9rirent par les serpents<\/span>.\u00a0<strong>10<\/strong> Ne murmurez point, comme murmur\u00e8rent quelques-uns d\u2019eux, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">qui p\u00e9rirent par l\u2019exterminateur<\/span>.\u00a0<strong>11<\/strong> Ces choses leur sont arriv\u00e9es pour servir d\u2019exemples, et elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crites pour notre instruction, \u00e0 nous qui sommes parvenus \u00e0 la fin des si\u00e8cles.\u00a0<strong>12<\/strong> Ainsi donc, que celui qui croit \u00eatre debout prenne garde de tomber !<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ce court passage interroge \u00e0 bien des \u00e9gards : quel \u00e9tait ce rocher, et \u00e0 quel point faut-il rapprocher ce propos de la l\u00e9gende juive sur le rocher abreuvant les Isra\u00e9lites au d\u00e9sert ? D&rsquo;o\u00f9 Paul tient-il ce chiffre de 23 000 morts\u00a0(cp. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*LSG Num 25:9\">Nb 25.9<\/a>) ? ou encore, que faut-il lire au verset 9 : \u00ab\u00a0ne tentons point le Seigneur\u00a0\u00bb, ou \u00ab\u00a0ne tentons point Dieu\u00a0\u00bb, ou bien \u00ab\u00a0ne tentons point Christ\u00a0\u00bb ?<\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est \u00e0 cette derni\u00e8re question que nous allons livrer quelques \u00e9l\u00e9ments de r\u00e9flexion. En effet, dans l&rsquo;AT, l&rsquo;expression plus consacr\u00e9e, c&rsquo;est <em>mettre J\u00e9hovah son Dieu \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve<\/em>, par r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au passage bien connu de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*LXX Deu 6:16\">Deut\u00e9ronome 6.16<\/a> (LXX) :\u00a0\u03bf\u1f50\u03ba \u1f10\u03ba\u03c0\u03b5\u03b9\u03c1\u1f71\u03c3\u03b5\u03b9\u03c2 \u03ba\u03cd\u03c1\u03b9\u03bf\u03bd \u03c4\u1f78\u03bd \u03b8\u03b5\u1f79\u03bd \u03c3\u03bf\u03c5 \u1f43\u03bd \u03c4\u03c1\u1f79\u03c0\u03bf\u03bd \u1f10\u03be\u03b5\u03c0\u03b5\u03b9\u03c1\u1f71\u03c3\u03b1\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5 \u1f10\u03bd \u03c4\u1ff7 \u03a0\u03b5\u03b9\u03c1\u03b1\u03c3\u03bc\u1ff7, <em>tu ne mettras point Seigneur ton Dieu \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve, comme vous l&rsquo;avez mis \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve \u00e0 \u00c9preuve<\/em> (cp. <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2kf9ENG\">BA 5\u00a0: 157<\/a>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The difficulty of explaining how the ancient Israelites in the wilderness could have tempted Christ prompted some copyists to substitute either the ambiguous\u00a0\u03ba\u03c5\u0301\u03c1\u03b9\u03bf\u03bd or the unobjectionable\u00a0\u03b8\u03b5\u03bf\u0301\u03bd. <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2jlvM99\">Metzger 2000 : 494<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is far more likely that \u00ab\u00a0Christ\u00a0\u00bb was changed to \u00ab\u00a0Lord\u00a0\u00bb (or, \u00ab\u00a0God\u00a0\u00bb) than vice-versa. <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2jOUWjX\">Comfort 2008 : 507<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Personnellement, j&rsquo;entends ces arguments sans probl\u00e8me : il est <em>possible<\/em> en effet que <em>Christ<\/em> ait \u00e9t\u00e9 substitu\u00e9 par <em>Dieu<\/em>, et plus souvent encore par <em>Seigneur<\/em>, parce que l&rsquo;expression \u00ab\u00a0tenter Christ\u00a0\u00bb est \u00e9trange.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En <em>1 Corinthiens<\/em>, Christ est clairement identifi\u00e9 \u00e0 un \u00ab\u00a0rocher spirituel\u00a0\u00bb accompagnant les Isra\u00e9lites dans le d\u00e9sert, ce qui fait penser bien s\u00fbr aux fameuses expressions \u00ab\u00a0ange de J\u00e9hovah\u00a0\u00bb (ex. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR Exo 3:2\">Ex 3.2<\/a>), \u00ab\u00a0ange de sa Face\u00a0\u00bb (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR Isa 63:9\">Is 63.9<\/a>, voir <a href=\"http:\/\/areopage.net\/blog\/2014\/01\/22\/%d7%9e%d6%b7%d7%9c%d6%b0%d7%90%d6%b7%d7%9a%d6%b0-%d7%a4%d6%b8%d6%bc%d7%a0%d6%b8%d7%99%d7%95-lange-de-sa-face-isaie-63-9\/\">ici<\/a>) ou m\u00eame \u00ab\u00a0ange de l&rsquo;Alliance\u00a0\u00bb (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR Mal 3:1\">Mal 3.1<\/a>), cf. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theotex.org\/perl\/theotex_pgsvg.pl?bk=godet_1corinthiens#top\">Godet 1885 : 505<\/a>. Quelques chapitres auparavant, Paul d\u00e9clare sans ambages que <em>toutes choses<\/em>\u00a0[ont \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9es]\u00a0<em>par son interm\u00e9diaire<\/em>\u00a0(\u03b4\u03b9\u2019 \u03bf\u1f57 \u03c4\u1f70 \u03c0\u1f71\u03bd\u03c4\u03b1, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR 1Co 8:6\">1 Co 8.6<\/a>). Force est donc de constater que Paul fait allusion, \u00e0 plusieurs reprises et explicitement, \u00e0 la <strong><em>pr\u00e9existence du Christ<\/em><\/strong>, \u00e0 ses interventions dans l&rsquo;histoire d&rsquo;Isra\u00ebl ou de l&rsquo;humanit\u00e9. On peut ainsi\u00a0rejoindre\u00a0Allo, au moins partiellement, sur l&rsquo;id\u00e9e que notre <em>locus<\/em> est \u00e0 noter \u00ab\u00a0<strong>pour la christologie<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb (cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/stream\/MN41377ucmf_4#page\/n345\/mode\/2up\">Allo 1934 : 233-234<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/2201172.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-jwp0LPe8\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5684 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/2201172.png?resize=150%2C150\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/2201172.png?resize=150%2C150 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/2201172.png?resize=144%2C144 144w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/2201172.png?zoom=2&amp;resize=150%2C150 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/areopage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/2201172.png?zoom=3&amp;resize=150%2C150 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mais les choses ne sont pas aussi simples que cela, et l&rsquo;on peut douter de cette le\u00e7on \u00ab\u00a0tenter Christ\u00a0\u00bb pour les raisons suivantes :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">L&rsquo;allusion \u00e0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*LXX%20Deu%206:16\">Deut\u00e9ronome 6.16<\/a> est pr\u00e9cise, et Paul, pourtant d\u00e9fenseur d&rsquo;une christologie haute (voir <a href=\"http:\/\/areopage.net\/blog\/2015\/07\/04\/romains-1013-quiconque-invoque-le-nom-de\/\">ici<\/a>), n&rsquo;identifie pas J\u00e9sus \u00e0 Dieu pour autant (c&rsquo;est ce qui ressort du contexte, et notamment de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR%201Co%208:6\">1Co 8.6<\/a>),<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Quand la tradition manuscrite est h\u00e9sitante, voire d\u00e9routante, il faut redoubler de vigilance, et se rem\u00e9morer les controverses christologiques qui secou\u00e8rent les II\/IIIe &#8211; IVe si\u00e8cles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">J&rsquo;ai dress\u00e9 en son temps une liste de curieuses variantes qui entrent exactement dans le cadre de notre verset : une variation entre les termes <strong>Dieu<\/strong> \/ <strong>Seigneur<\/strong> \/ <strong>J\u00e9sus<\/strong> \/ <strong>Christ<\/strong>, ou l&rsquo;<strong>absence<\/strong> de l&rsquo;un de ces termes. Il en ressort avec la plus parfaite \u00e9vidence que les scribes ne s&rsquo;attelaient pas seulement \u00e0 \u00e9claircir un passage, l&rsquo;harmoniser avec un autre, ou occulter une difficult\u00e9, mais ils pouvaient bel et bien, \u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion, <strong><em>corrompre leur texte pour des motifs th\u00e9ologiques<\/em><\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2kgvuV9\">Fontaine 2007 : 258-264<\/a>). On trouve ce genre de variantes en <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR 1Co 5:5\">1 Corinthiens 5.5<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR 1Co 7:40\">7.40<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR 1Co 10:5\">10.5<\/a>, et <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleparser.net\/Default.aspx?ref_nav=*PAR 1Co 10:9\">10.9<\/a>. Cela fait beaucoup.\u00a0En 10.5 justement, le sujet <em>Dieu<\/em> est omis pour faire de <em>Christ<\/em> le sujet le plus \u00e9vident&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bart Ehrman a livr\u00e9 sur ce type de corruption une \u00e9tude qui me para\u00eet d\u00e9cisive, puisqu&rsquo;elle montre l&rsquo;effet des controverses christologiques sur la transmission du texte n\u00e9otestamentaire : <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2kgxL2F\"><em>The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture &#8211; The Effect of Christological Controversies on the Text of the New Testament<\/em><\/a> (Oxford University Press, 1993). Il traite ce passage <strong>pp.89-90<\/strong>. H\u00e9r\u00e9sie !\u00a0\u00c0 ce stade, il faut faire preuve de bon sens. Par sa nature, une \u00e9dition critique du NT fait des choix parmi les manuscrits &#8211; pour le GNT, le choix pour notre <em>locus<\/em> est not\u00e9 avec une relative confiance d&rsquo;un {B} &#8211; et de fait il n&rsquo;y a pas de texte grec du NT qui serait \u00ab\u00a0corrompu\u00a0\u00bb, puisque les deux \u00e9ditions courantes, <strong>GNT5<\/strong> et <strong>NA28<\/strong>, sont des reconstitutions savantes de ce texte, des\u00a0<em>patchworks<\/em>&#8230; En revanche les manuscrits servant \u00e0 cette reconstitution, oui, peuvent tout \u00e0 fait \u00eatre corrompus \u00e0 des degr\u00e9s divers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">J&rsquo;ajoute qu&rsquo;avant le NA26, on lisait couramment\u00a0\u1f10\u03ba\u03c0\u03b5\u03b9\u03c1\u1f71\u03b6\u03c9\u03bc\u03b5\u03bd <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u03c4\u1f78\u03bd \u03ba\u03cd\u03c1\u03b9\u03bf\u03bd<\/span> (ainsi <strong>Alford<\/strong>, <strong>Nestle 1904<\/strong>, <strong>Tischendorf<\/strong>, <strong>Tregelles<\/strong>, <strong>Merk<\/strong>, ou encore <strong>Westcott et Hort<\/strong>).
